About This Site
The Athenian School website was designed and developed by former Athenians Joe Lewis and John Smiddy. This site is built using the PHP/MySQL application server model and is served by an Apache Web Server running Linux (collectively known as LAMP). The design and development of this site was done on Apple Macintosh computers running Mac OS X, using Adobe Photoshop, Bare Bones' BBEdit, and Macromedia Dreamweaver and Fireworks. This site has been updated to validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional and to employ a semantic document structure and a pure CSS design.
Joe Lewis attended Athenian from 1980 to 1984 and is the grandson of Athenian's former Dean of Students Ed Ellis. Joe is a web architect and developer and can be found on the web at www.sanbeiji.com. John Smiddy graduated from Athenian in 1984 and is a graphic designer and artist living in San Francisco. John's artwork can be seen at www.johnsmiddy.com and at various locations in and around San Francisco.
