Middle School Application Checklist
___ Required campus visit and interview
- Make an appointment as soon as possible. (You may visit before completing an application.)
___ Applicant Information Form
- Complete and return to The Athenian School.
- Include the $75 application fee and a photograph.
___ Complete and return to the Athenian Admission Office
- Student Statement
- Parent Questionnaire
___ Transcript Request Form
- Complete the form and it give to current school for transcripts and available test scores.
- Please provide for the school a pre-addressed envelope (to The Athenian School).
- We must receive a complete transcript of your 2005-06 grades as well as your fall 2006-07 grades. See the Transcript Request and Release form for details.
___ Teacher Recommendation Forms
- Submit a form to two teachers—one must be a current teacher.
- Please provide each teacher with a stamped envelope pre-addressed to the Admission Office, The Athenian School.
- Teachers must mail or fax recommendations directly to The Athenian School.
___ Testing (see the Admission Calendar for registration information)
- Complete and submit scores for Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE).
- Exam offered in several East Bay cities.
- Test registration information enclosed.
___ Financial Aid Process
- Complete your financial aid application online at https://sss.ets.org. Contact the Admission Office for assistance.
Upper School Application Checklist
___ Required campus visit and interview

- Applicants who do not live within a reasonable travel distance are not required to visit.
___ Applicant Information Form
- Complete and return to The Athenian School.
- Include the $75 application fee and a photograph. (If international students wish to pay the fee by wire transfer, please contact the Admission Office. )

- Complete the appropriate admission testing.
- Domestic Day and Boarding Students must take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) or the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT).
- International Students must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the Secondary Level English Proficiency (SLEP) test or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The TOEFL is strongly preferred.
