Registration & Policies

List of 10 items.

  • Registration

Registration is now on the web. Using your user name and password, you can log in and view your registrations at any time. You also have the option to log back in and make payments.

Remember, if you arrive on the first day of class and plan to register later, you take the risk of the class or camp being full or cancelled and it’s very busy on first days. Therefore, please try to plan ahead.
  • Partial Sessions

While we prefer that campers participate in the full two-week session of camp, we understand it does not always work with your family’s vacation schedule. Therefore, we can make accommodations with Summit Seekers and Sports Camp. We are sorry but cannot accommodate partial participation in our enrichment classes. There will be a $20.00 administrative fee to customize your schedule.
  • Schedule Changes

To swap classes, camps, or sessions or to adjust your schedule, a “Transfer Form” will need to be submitted. This form can be found on the summer website. When registering please make your selections carefully as a $15.00 administrative fee will be applied to your account for the first schedule adjustment. A $20.00 will be applied for the next adjustment and $25.00 for a third, etc. We do not accept email notifications for adjustments. The transfer form is used in instances when you’ve realized you have signed up for the wrong class or camp or if you decide to swap Period C with Period B, for example.  Changes will be made on a space available basis. If you are dropping all of your camps or classes, you will require a cancellation form. Both of these forms can be found on the website.
  • Early Bird and Sibling Discounts

Sibling discount account only applies to full-day or half-day camps. It does not apply to Private Swim lessons taken independently.
You will receive a $50 discount if your register before March 30.  One discount per camper.

The first child pays full price. The discount applies to the second, third, and fourth registration/sibling. Siblings will receive a 10% discount. When registering online you will use a discount code to receive your discount. The discount code is, Sibling.

Your account will be adjusted to reflect the policy of the first child at the full advertised price if the code is used incorrectly.
  • Cancellations and Refunds

IF YOU DECIDE TO CANCEL A CAMP OR CLASS, A CANCELLATION FORM MUST BE TURNED IN OR YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR REGISTRATION FEES. An email notification is not an accepted form of cancellation. You may email an attachment or scanned copy of the form. However, a verbal or email request will not be accepted as a cancellation.

Our refund policy is designed to discourage last minute cancellations. Your registration reserves a space in camp or class for your child. The summer program’s hiring and purchasing are directly determined by your enrollment. Therefore, no exceptions can be made. A full refund will be issued only when The Athenian School cancels a class or camp. The Athenian School reserves the right to cancel a class or program for any reason including lack of enrollment. In such cases, a full refund, including all deposits, will be returned. You will be asked to sign off during the registration process indicating you have read, understand and agree to the policy.

    All deposits are non-refundable.

If your cancellation is received before May 11, 2015, you deposit will be held and all installments payments set up in the auto-pay system will be deleted.

If you cancel on or after May 11, your deposit and first installment will be held.
All installments set up in the auto-pay system will be deleted.
    • NO REFUNDS OF DEPOSITS, TUITION OR OTHER FEES WILL BE MADE AFTER JUNE 8, 2015. Please plan accordingly.
    • If a child cannot return to camp due to illness or accident, the unused portion of the session will be credited for future use by the withdrawing camper. Refunds are not given for camper illness, missed days, withdrawals, or if a camper is asked to leave the program.
    • The Athenian School reserves the right to suspend a camper or student at any time if in the opinion of the camp director the behavior of the participant is compromising their own safety, the safety of others, or the enjoyment of other participants. No refund will be given if a camper or student is asked to leave.
  • Payment Policy

At the time of registration, you will have four payment options.
    1. To pay in full.
    2. To pay a deposit of 10% returning later to pay the balance. Your total balance is due either on or before your session start date.
    3. To pay a deposit of 10% and “pay down” your remaining balance in 3 installments.
      1. 1st Credit Card Installment/Processing Date: June 15, 2015
        2nd Credit Card Installment/Processing Date: June 29, 2015
        3rd Credit Card Installment/Processing Date: July 13, 2015
You will not be notified or reminded of the processing dates unless there is a problem with your credit card such as your card has expired, or the transaction was denied or failed.
        4.  To pay by check.

Any remaining balances that appear on your account will be charged on the last day of summer camp, August 7, 2015. Any fee not paid by August 7, 2015 due to nonsufficient funds, or any other reason will incur a late fee of $25.00 if not reconciled by August 28, 201. Thereafter, $25.00 will be added every two weeks the account remains unpaid.

Any variations to these conditions agreed to between a family and The Athenian School shall only be binding if agreed in writing.
  • Liability

This summer we have a new system for dealing with camper liability forms. No longer will you have to print, sign, and mail in your liability form. When registering on-line you will be asked to accept the terms of liability. Below you will find the details of the liability terms.

The following camps and class will be attending off-campus field trips:

Summit Seekers, Classic Sports Camp, Outdoor Adventure Camp, Counselor in Training, and Sewing (to purchase fabric).

The Athenian Summer Camp program provides a variety of learning experiences outside of the classroom and away from The Athenian School campus. Parents are encouraged to come along and be part of the experience. Day trips include but are not limited to: museums, theme parks, the zoo, fabric shopping, roller-skating, restaurants, parks, bowling and baseball games. Outdoor experiences may include travel to and participation in hiking, lakes, and tide pools.

We make every effort to minimize risk to participants and instruct participants in the safe negotiation of such risk as may remain. The customer acknowledges that there are circumstances in which an accident could occur to a participant.

Trips are taken in school buses. Sew What! students may go in school vans depending on the number of students registered. Parents and guardians are advised that inherent risks are present in these activities. By registering online, you as the parent and or legal guardian of the camper participating in The Athenian School Summer Camp, give permission for your son/daughter to participate in these trips and agree to waive all liability against The Athenian School and its employees for harm to your son/daughter resulting from the risks inherent in these activities.

Summer Enrichment Classes do not attend field trips. In the event a trip might be offered, you will be notified in advance.

Recognizing that The Athenian School will do its best to ensure a safe experience, you understand that certain dangers or accidents may occur. You hereby release The Athenian School from all responsibility and liability of any nature, including claims for injury, illness, death, loss or damage, resulting from your child’s’ participating in program activities. You hereby give permission to the camp to provide, seek, and consent to routine health care, administration of prescribed medication, and emergency treatment for my child, as may be necessary, including, but not limited to x-rays, routine tests and treatment, and/or hospitalization. You also give permission for the camp to arrange related transportation. You agree to the release of any records necessary for treatment, referral, billing, or insurance purposes. In the event you cannot be reached in an emergency, you hereby give permission to the physician selected by The Athenian School representative, to hospitalize, secure proper treatment for, and to order injection and/or anesthesia and/or surgery for your child.

The medical information you provide is true and accurate as far as you know.
  • Photography & Marketing

The Athenian School may take photos of camp participants during their time on campus to use in promotional material. If you would prefer we do not use your child’s photo for, please let us know in writing along with a photograph of your child for our reference.

Any personal data collected for registration in strictly confidential.
  • Miscellaneous Policies

While we make every effort to send our students/campers on the field trips listed in this brochure and on the website, it is possible that a Director will need to change or substitute a particular field trip. In this case, no credits or refunds will be made.

Campers must pack a bag lunch on field trip days.

For safety and supervision reasons students attending summer enrichment classes should not arrive too early of 9:00 a.m. for the first class. Students who must arrive early need to be registered for extended care or breakfast club (No charge for morning extended care).  Another option is to have a parent wait with their children outside the classroom until the teacher arrives.

We advise campers/students not to bring any valuable items or electronics to camp. The Athenian School will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property unless it is due to negligence on the part of The School. Please label everything.
