APA Fundraising for the 2006-07 School Year
Enthusiastic Athenian parents raised about $135,000 for Athenian in 2006-07. Funds came from a spring auction, eScrip/merchant fundraising programs, and dues.
The major fundraiser for the year was LIVE FROM ATHENIAN, an auction held at the Blackhawk Country Club on Saturday, April 14, 2007. The auction netted almost $100,000 (click here to see our auction page), while eScrip and other merchant fundraising programs provided about $20,000. Association dues and other sources of income totaled about $17,000. For 2006-07, proceeds will be used as follows:

The school plans to use these funds for new bleachers at the soccer field plus instrumental and choral music equipment, with some funds reserved for replacing Middle School classrooms. |
Kate & Dyke Brown Terrace (Fund-A-Need) |

This project was fully funded by parent donations designated for this use during the auction. The terrace is located north of the Main Hall. |
Professional development |
$10,000 |
These funds provide opportunities for faculty members to remain up-to-date in their fields and help with retention. |
Sports trainer (shared cost) |
$6,000 |
The school and the APA together fund this position so an experienced trainer can attend games and help if a student athlete is injured. |
In addition to giving money to the school, the APA funded several programs directly in 2006-07:
