What is your favorite Athenian tradition?
I have many favorite traditions, but Senior Cry day really sticks out to me. During the very last week of school, the Upper School gathers either in the Main Hall or on the East Lawn, when all the graduation stuff is set up. The seniors are all gathered in the front, and people come up and talk about the seniors, whether they’re siblings, classmates, friends or best friends and give them appreciation. It was one of the coolest and most fun experiences at the end of the school year. My sibling graduates this year and I’m already starting to think about what I’ll say for them, and some of their friends to show appreciation.
What is the best thing about Athenian?
The best thing is the community, the diversity, the inclusion, participation and everything about it. For example, lots of people go to sports games and support the teams and players even if they don’t particularly like sports, or have a friend on the team. I think that’s awesome and represents how the community supports each other.
