Upper School students work together to design, program, and build a new robot annually for the FIRST Robotics Competition. By joining the robotics program, you will be mentored by professional engineers, build and complete a robot of your own design, learn sophisticated hardware and software, and see a complicated engineering project from conception through completion.
The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an annual competition that helps students discover the rewards and excitement of science, engineering, and technology. Working with mentors, students have just six weeks to design, build, and test their robots to meet the season’s engineering challenge. Once these young inventors create the robot, their teams participate in regional competitions that measure the effectiveness of each robot, the power of collaboration, and the determination of students. It’s as close to “real world” engineering as a student can get. Professional Mentors volunteer their time and talents to guide each team.
