The Athenian Annual Fund supports our student experience in every way - from tuition assistance, to academics, the arts, and athletics. While the specific needs each year may vary, our beliefs remain the same.

Why is the Athenian Annual Fund necessary?

Each year, the Athenian Annual Fund provides the flexibility to support priorities that arise - whether in programs, faculty needs, or tuition assistance. Simply put, the annual fund is core to our annual finances and essential to an Athenian education.

We rely on the Athenian Annual Fund to deliver on our promise of an education that prepares students for a life of intellectual exploration and meaningful contribution. The Athenian experience is only possible through annual operating gifts beyond tuition.

Why have the giving areas changed?

To better align fundraising with The Athenian School's strategic vision, the giving areas reflect the foundational ideals integral to the school's mission. The Athenian Annual Fund continues to support academics, the arts, and athletics, yet in a way that more clearly ties these aspects to the purpose of an Athenian education. Gifts immediately impact the student experience and allow the school to respond to needs thoughtfully and effectively.
The Athenian Endowment is a pool of monies held in a long-term investment with a portion of the interest earnings harvested annually and applied to school operations. Comprised of more than 30 named funds, The Athenian Endowment generates revenue each year to support the operating budget, including salaries and benefits for faculty and staff, innovative programs and cherished traditions, and offering tuition assistance to a wide array of families. The endowment grows through investment strategy, additional contributions and special campaigns. The endowment is an ongoing fundraising priority and is a meaningful way to make a lasting contribution.
