Emily Shinkle

Current Director of Residential Life
Parent of two current students, ’24 and ’27

Emily joined Athenian in 2006 as the 6-12 Choir Director. She quickly fell in love with boarding life at Athenian and has since served the school in a variety of capacities including Dorm Head, Associate Director of Residential Life Activities, Director of Residential Life, Co-Dean of Equity and Inclusion, and volleyball coach. Throughout her time at Athenian, Emily has continued in her role as Choir Director. She lives with her husband Andy, an Athenian Middle School teacher, and her three children, two of whom are Athenian students.
