The 3D printing revolution is here! Are you ready to be a part of it? This beginner's class on computer aided design (CAD) and 3D printing will help you turn your ideas into reality. Campers will be introduced to SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD software and other modeling applications as they dive into the concepts of computer aided design. They will be shown how 3D printers are used to make a prototype come to life and will have the opportunity to use the 3D printers to make their designs come to life. Campers will come away with a new understanding of the powerful capabilities of 3D printing and rapid prototyping!

Students will also learn how to use the laser cutter. They will have the opportunity to design, cut, and etch multiple projects of choice.

Lori Harsch, a mechanical engineer, member of the Interdisciplinary Program Faculty, and Athenian Carter Innovation Studio Manager will share her skills while guiding students to develop their ideas. A gifted teacher, coach, and mentor, this will be Lori’s 5th summer season working with young people in the exciting world of engineering and science.
