Community Service

Community service is an integral part of an Athenian education and is present in grades 6-12, both inside and outside of the classroom.
In the Middle School, service is woven into classroom content in what is known as service learning. As an example, an art class might knit hats for newborns in hospitals around the world. In the Upper School, our Community Service Program provides a wide range of opportunities for students to fulfill their required hours of service. Students participate in environmental cleanups, tutoring, food bank distribution, and many other activities, nearby Athenian and across the globe.

Please contact Community Service Director Mark Friedman with questions about this program.
