Jewelry Making w/ Laser Cutting, 3D Printing, and Polymer Clay

Instructor: Vanessa Restrepo
Grades: 4 - 8
Fee: $395

Get creative with our design equipment in the Carter Innovation Studio! Our students use our laser cutter and 3-D printer to make parts for robots, but what about jewelry? We’ll put our skills and machines to the test in this enrichment class. We’ll also use polymer clay for our jewelry, which stays continually soft and can be baked in a home oven, while keeping its color and size. You will learn how to work with the clay, learn basic techniques and create your own designs to make jewelry! You’ll also use ready-made beads, clasps, and other jewelry materials–all provided with the class. What will you design to take home?
Instructor Vanessa Restrepo has a passion for art, design, and fashion. She has been making jewelry and other clay creations for years and is an artist with her own company in the Bay Area. She loves working with youth to help expand horizons and share respect for our multicultural community.
