Session 4
AM Half Day, 9am – 12:30, $600 (lunch included)
or
PM Half Day, 12:15 – 3:45 pm, $600 (lunch included)

This is a two-week, 30-hour summer studio that introduces students to architecture and design.  Participants will explore how the design process and principles in design thinking are used in the conceptual development of products, buildings, and environments. Students will use these principles to develop a project of their own.  This is where design ideas become real.

The studio will guide students through the latest in computer modeling and digital representation using Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite to develop a series of designs focusing on composition, color, pattern, form, and space while exploring, and experimenting with, the properties of different materials.

Henry Dominguez earned his Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) and his work, in collaboration with firms in LA and Miami, has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Architecture and Design Museum of LA. He believes in fostering a creative culture where everyone's ideas are heard and have value in the pursuit of original and creative thought. He is excited to lead his first summer workshop at Athenian and to put each student's imagination to work!
