Students will use hand building and sculpture techniques, taking the clay from an initial wet clay stage through bisque and glaze firings. Come join this class to exercise your creativity and make something uniquely yours to bring home. No previous experience required.

We are delighted for Kristen C. to return to Athenian Programs and share her talents as both an artist and caring teacher.

It's Field Games/Sport fun! We’ll play some collaborative games outside to get active and learn leadership and team-building skills. Whether you have never played these games before, or are an expert at these games, this is the course for you! After a few classes of learning a few basic fundamentals and rules of each game, we will spend the class time playing these games outside. All genders are welcome and encouraged.

Cookies! Cakes, ice cream and more! Do you love baking? We do too! Join us for this fun baking class where we’ll not only bake delicious sweet goodies but also learn about the history and origin of our baked goods and create our own recipe books. We’ll also cover some introductory entrepreneurship concepts, such as cost and profit in a bakery business. You’re sure to have fun and become more confident with your baking skills through this class.

Throughout the Winter Enrichment session they will have support from the After School Enrichment team as needed. They are thrilled to offer this course to Athenian and non-Athenian younger students.

Bring your creativity and ideas to life on the big screen! Whether you like comedies, action films, mysteries, or horror--you'll get to learn the basics of filmmaking from the start to finish: working in a group to come up with ideas, a script, props, filming, editing and finally, the premiere and celebration! Athenian Student Instructor Alex I. is excited to bring this class to younger students, having started directing, writing and filmmaking in middle school as well. As the Teacher's Assistant for the Filmmaking department at Athenian, Alex can't wait to bring this passion to other students and see them create a completed short film. All materials will be provided and no prior experience is required. We hope you join the fun!

Join us for this fun and crafty student-led enrichment class! You'll learn from current Athenian Upper students to make Do-it-Yourself art projects to take home, such as: crochet toys, jewelry pieces and tie-dye clothes--plus more projects tailored to your choice. Our Student Instructors say their hope is that students can take home their creations and "enjoy the feeling of accomplishment of making something by hand. They'll feel more confident in their own abilities and eager to try new things." We hope you join us!

Have you ever played badminton before? This fun game, which looks similar to tennis, is an olympic sport that is popular around the world--we even have a Badminton team here at Athenian!  It can be played casually in the backyard with friends, or competitively as a career. We will first start with basics such as the rules of the game, how to properly hold a badminton racket, how to hit and the synchronization of your wrist and arm. But overall, we'll have a great time playing together, building new skills, and making new friends. Student Instructor Austen is on the Athenian Badminton team, and is excited to bring his joy for the game to younger students and help them build their skills in an experiential way. We hope to see you there!
