What has been your favorite class at Athenian and why?
My favorite class was my 9th grade world history class. Our teacher was so nice, and not only did she make us learn a lot, but really made it feel like a community. We had rigorous expectations and we all grew together with our Harkness discussions where the teacher steps out and it's all student led. We also helped each other with our essays and peer editing, it was a highlight that everyone can relate to and everyone is able to help with.

What are you involved in on campus?
I am involved in sports - the swim team which is really nice. I’m not a great swimmer but I just have a lot of fun and I’ve made some good friends. I got to know some upperclass students through it which was really helpful for advice for classes and everything. I am the only person on Athenian's dive team. I do diving outside of school, and to [hopefully] be able to dive in college I needed to do high school diving. I was able to work with my parents and my coach to start a diving team here and I’m able to participate in high school competitions that I wouldn't have had access to without it. It really shows how dedicated Athenian is to working with students and meeting you with what you need in an individualized way.
